Current Priorities

The Fagan Foundation’s current priority is the Tsum Valley Education Fund, through which approximately $310,000 CAD has been committed to support Compassion School in Tsum Valley. These commitments support a greenhouse project and three years of operating support, while longer-term education pathways beyond Grade 5 are being developed with local leadership.

The $310,000 CAD represents the Foundation’s current defined commitments, not the full long-term need. Donations are still needed to help fund these commitments, and additional support is required as the Foundation works to develop future education pathways.

Greenhouse Project

Commitment: Approximately $35,000 CAD

Timing: Fall 2026

The greenhouse project will support student nutrition and school meals by helping the local community grow fresh, healthy food that is difficult to produce consistently in Tsum Valley.

Operating Support

Amount: Approximately $275,000 CAD over three years

Timing: 2028–2030

Operating support will help keep Compassion School functioning by covering the cost of teachers, school leadership, student meals, uniforms, residence support, and daily operations.

Longer Term Priority

Education Beyond Grade 5

Timing: To be developed with local leadership

Formal schooling in Tsum Valley does not extend beyond Grade 5. The Foundation’s longer-term objective is to help create pathways for students who continue their education outside the valley.
